Is God of Jesus, the God of Old Testement?

 

I saw this post in one of the blogs here. I cant resist myself from replying to it..!

“The purpose of this article is not to offend anyone. But, ifit does, Ireally don’t care. Iam sure lots of christians out there will probablly be praying for my soul. Don’t, pray for your own.

Well, here goes.

Is the god of Jesus the god of the old testament? My answer is no. The god that Jesus speaks of is a loving, compassionate god. A father who loves all his children. A god of peace. The god of the old testament is nothing like this. This is a god that punishes mankind for eternity for some thing the first man and woman did. Their crime was disobeying god and gaining. A god that wanted us to remain ignorant. Jesus on the other hand said “seek the truth, and it will set you free”. the god of the old testament tied to wipe out humanity with a flood. this god tells his people to go into villages and kill every man woman and child. Where is the Love in that? what Kind of god tells his people to commit such atrocities. That’s another thing, why would a kind and loving god favor one race over all others? This is a rascist god.

God tells Abraham to murder his own son, then when he was about to do it , god pretty much says, I was just kidding, but now I know that you are obiedient. this is a sadistic god. in the old testament, when it talks about how the Pharoh fed the hebrew children to the crocidiles, every one says how evil it was. but when god curses Egypt, and kills evvery first born son. it’s alright. So, it is bad if we do it, but it is ok if god does it. The god of jesus would never be like this.

So, Is the god of Jesus the god of the old testement? No.

I would have answered this post in its comments area..bt it needs a good explanation..so I decided to bring it here.

 

The first thing which I appreciate is that the author recognises JESUS (Peace be upon him) IS NOT GOD. There was a God for Jesus (Peace be upon him) himself.

 

When I hovered the comments area..I could see that no one answered the author’s questions directly. Those were appreciable questions in my view. They just bombarded him with quotes from bible(s) without explaining them.

 

When I read this post..my faith increased..yes it is true..the God who sent down AlQur’aan has sent down these previous scriptures Taurah (Old Testement you say), Injeel (New Testement)…otherwise u wouldnt be having these certain incidents in it..which Qur’aan speaks about it clearly.

 

In numerous verses in AlQur’aan, God states that this book affirms the books which came before it..lemme quote few of them.

And We have sent down the true Book upon you (O Muhammad), confirming the Books preceding it, and a protector and witness over them [AlQur’aan 5:48]

 

[Allah] said, “O John, take the Scripture with determination.” And We gave him judgement [while yet] a boy. [AlQur’aan 19:12]

 

[Jesus] said, “Indeed, I am the servant of Allah. He has given me the Scripture and made me a prophet. [AlQur’aan 19:30]

 

And We certainly gave Moses the Scripture that perhaps they would be guided. [AlQur’aan 23:49]

 

And before it was the scripture of Moses to lead and as a mercy. And this is a confirming Book in an Arabic tongue to warn those who have wronged and as good tidings to the doers of good. [AlQur’aan 46:12]

 

But what should we take into consideration is.. ARE TODAY’S OT AND NT GOD’S WORDS?

Speak from ur heart..do u say they r God’s words?

We review it, we add to it, we delete from it and still we say THEY ARE GOD’S WORDS?

Lets be truthful to ourselves, lose is going to be for us and not to others!

God admonishes this by saying,

So woe to those who write the “scripture” with their own hands, then say, “This is from Allah ,” in order to exchange it for a small price. Woe to them for what their hands have written and woe to them for what they earn. [AlQur’aan 2:79]

         

              And this is the main reason for all these confusions you got. You agree the words of God but you cant agree the words of human beings in the cover of ‘Godly man’.

 

Now lemme come to your actual questions.

 

A loving, compassionate, peaceful God:

             I agree with u in all these qualities of God. But when u say that a loving God can never get anger or a compassionate God can never punish you thats where I disagree with you.

See you believe that when you do good God loves you, then why cant you believe that God can punish those who transgress too?? Do you think He cant do that? Do you think He cant get anger?

Come on now, where is the logic here?

GOD IS ALWAYS A LOVING GOD BUT THAT DOESNT MAKE HIM INABLE TO PLOT AGAINST THOSE WHO AGRESS!

This is a God that punishes mankind for eternity for some thing the first man and woman did:

           Now this is not true. This is what we added. God doesnot punish the whole mankind for what Adam and Eve did. That was there own mistake. Islam doesnt say that Eve induced Adam to eat the fruit. Blame is on both of them. Both of them were decieved. Islam doesnt say that women suffer pregnancy becoz of what Eve did..nope..this is something God ordained for us. There is nothing like God punishes the whole mankind for what the first man and woman did. 🙂

 

A God that wanted us to remain ignorant:

      Hmm..again this is an addition which we added for our own destruction. If you know the first revealed verses of Qur’aan were,

Read in the name of your Lord who created.

 

Created man from a clinging substance.

 

Read, and your Lord is the most Generous –

[AlQur’aan 96:1-3]

                See the first revealed word was ‘Iqrah’ READ. God didnot say worhip me He said READ. READ READ READ then you will know the truth. He is a God who taught everything to us..who taught us what we did not know.

　

The God of the old testament tried to wipe out humanity with a flood:

       I am pretty sure, you mentioned Noah’s flood here. This is not an addition, this is true. Noah’s people were idol worshipers. Noah (Peace be upon him) called them to worship the ONLY GOD for about 950 years!

 

إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِ أَنْ أَنذِرْ قَوْمَكَ مِن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِيَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ ﴿١﴾ قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ إِنِّي لَكُمْ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ ﴿٢﴾ أَنِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّـهَ وَاتَّقُوهُ وَأَطِيعُونِ ﴿٣﴾ يَغْفِرْ لَكُم مِّن ذُنُوبِكُمْ وَيُؤَخِّرْكُمْ إِلَىٰ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى ۚ إِنَّ أَجَلَ اللَّـهِ إِذَا جَاءَ لَا يُؤَخَّرُ ۖ لَوْ كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ ﴿٤﴾ قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي دَعَوْتُ قَوْمِي لَيْلًا وَنَهَارًا ﴿٥﴾ فَلَمْ يَزِدْهُمْ دُعَائِي إِلَّا فِرَارًا ﴿٦﴾ وَإِنِّي كُلَّمَا دَعَوْتُهُمْ لِتَغْفِرَ لَهُمْ جَعَلُوا أَصَابِعَهُمْ فِي آذَانِهِمْ وَاسْتَغْشَوْا ثِيَابَهُمْ وَأَصَرُّوا وَاسْتَكْبَرُوا اسْتِكْبَارًا ﴿٧﴾ ثُمَّ إِنِّي دَعَوْتُهُمْ جِهَارًا ﴿٨﴾ ثُمَّ إِنِّي أَعْلَنتُ لَهُمْ وَأَسْرَرْتُ لَهُمْ إِسْرَارًا ﴿٩﴾ فَقُلْتُ اسْتَغْفِرُوا رَبَّكُمْ إِنَّهُ كَانَ غَفَّارًا ﴿١٠﴾

 

 Indeed, We sent Noah to his people, [saying], “Warn your people before there comes to them a painful punishment.” (1) He said, “O my people, indeed I am to you a clear warner, (2) [Saying], ‘Worship Allah, fear Him and obey me. (3) Allah will forgive you of your sins and delay you for a specified term. Indeed, the time [set by] Allah, when it comes, will not be delayed, if you only knew.’ ” (4) He said, “My Lord, indeed I invited my people [to truth] night and day. (5) But my invitation increased them not except in flight. (6) And indeed, every time I invited them that You may forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, covered themselves with their garments, persisted, and were arrogant with [great] arrogance. (7) Then I invited them publicly. (8) Then I announced to them and [also] confided to them secretly (9) And said, ‘Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Indeed, He is ever a Perpetual Forgiver. (10) [AlQur’aan Chapter Noah]

 

           But he was critized, rebuked n ridiculed. Even his own wife and his son critized him. Only a handful of people believed in him.

Just put urself into the shoes of Noah (Peace be upon him) how do u feel when u call people to the true divine path for abt 950 yrs and no one believe u? In addition u r insulted? We will never hv the sabr (patience) what Noah (Peace be upon him) had!

       And God would hv not destroyed those people except for the du’a (supplication) of Noah. Prophet’s supplications are not left unanswered if u knw.

　

قَالَ نُوحٌ رَّبِّ إِنَّهُمْ عَصَوْنِي وَاتَّبَعُوا مَن لَّمْ يَزِدْهُ مَالُهُ وَوَلَدُهُ إِلَّا خَسَارًا ﴿٢١﴾ وَمَكَرُوا مَكْرًا كُبَّارًا ﴿٢٢﴾ وَقَالُوا لَا تَذَرُنَّ آلِهَتَكُمْ وَلَا تَذَرُنَّ وَدًّا وَلَا سُوَاعًا وَلَا يَغُوثَ وَيَعُوقَ وَنَسْرًا ﴿٢٣﴾ وَقَدْ أَضَلُّوا كَثِيرًا ۖ وَلَا تَزِدِ الظَّالِمِينَ إِلَّا ضَلَالًا ﴿٢٤﴾

 

Noah said, “My Lord, indeed they have disobeyed me and followed him whose wealth and children will not increase him except in loss. (21) And they conspired an immense conspiracy. (22) And said, ‘Never leave your gods and never leave Wadd or Suwa’ or Yaghuth and Ya’uq and Nasr. (23) And already they have misled many. And, [my Lord], do not increase the wrongdoers except in error.” (24) [AlQur’aan Chapter Noah].

 

وَقَالَ نُوحٌ رَّبِّ لَا تَذَرْ عَلَى الْأَرْضِ مِنَ الْكَافِرِينَ دَيَّارًا ﴿٢٦﴾ إِنَّكَ إِن تَذَرْهُمْ يُضِلُّوا عِبَادَكَ وَلَا يَلِدُوا إِلَّا فَاجِرًا كَفَّارًا ﴿٢٧﴾ رَّبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِوَالِدَيَّ وَلِمَن دَخَلَ بَيْتِيَ مُؤْمِنًا وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ وَلَا تَزِدِ الظَّالِمِينَ إِلَّا تَبَارًا ﴿٢٨﴾

 

And Noah said, “My Lord, do not leave upon the earth from among the disbelievers an inhabitant. (26) Indeed, if You leave them, they will mislead Your servants and not beget except [every] wicked one and [confirmed] disbeliever. (27) My Lord, forgive me and my parents and whoever enters my house a believer and the believing men and believing women. And do not increase the wrongdoers except in destruction.” (28) [AlQur’aan Chapter Noah]

 

              See, these people were punished because of their own deeds. Their own evilness. Their own wickedness. U think they should keep on transgressing and God should not punish them? U think 950 years is not enough for them?

 

مِّمَّا خَطِيئَاتِهِمْ أُغْرِقُوا فَأُدْخِلُوا نَارًا فَلَمْ يَجِدُوا لَهُم مِّن دُونِ اللَّـهِ أَنصَارًا ﴿٢٥﴾

 

Because of their sins they were drowned and put into the Fire, and they found not for themselves besides Allah [any] helpers. (25) [AlQur’aan Chapter Noah]

         STOP BLAMING GOD..AND BLAME THOSE PEOPLE WHO DESTROYED THEMSELVES BY DISOBEYING THE ONE TRUE GOD!

 

This God tells his people to go into villages and kill every man woman and child:

            I am sorry this is what some wicked people’s hand wrote to taste the Hell fire. Let them get what they deserve by confusing lots of people including YOU!　

 

Why would a kind and loving God favour one race over all others?

         You did mean the people of Israael, right? Yes God sent many Prophets among them..this can be taken in a positive way but also it has a negative side .. They denied many of their prophets..they killed some of them..guess what will be their destiny!

     Why did God chose Israael?..again it was because of the du’a of Prophet Abraham (Peace be upon him). If you know he was known as khaleelullaah..the best friend of Allah..becoz of his immense unshakeable faith.

Abraham (Peace be upon him) while raising the foundation of AlKa’ba in a desert with his son Ismaeel (Peace be upon him) made the following du’a,

 

Our Lord, and send among them a messenger from themselves who will recite to them Your verses and teach them the Book and wisdom and purify them. Indeed, You are the Exalted in Might, the Wise.” [AlQur’aan 2:129]

              It may appear that God favoured the people of Israel by choosing many prophets from the descendents of Isaac and Jacob..but He sent His last Prophet to the descendent of Ismaael.. PROPHET MUHAMMAD (PEACE BE UPON HIM) WHO WILL GET THE MAXIMUM NUMBER OF FOLLOWERS!

God sent many Prophets to the descendents of Prophet Abraham (Peace be upon him), but that doesnt mean He didnt sent any to the rest of the world. For each n every place, God sent a warner.

 

Indeed, We have sent you with the truth as a bringer of good tidings and a warner. And there was no nation but that there had passed within it a warner. [AlQur’aan 35:24]

GOD IS THE JUST OF THE JUST..NEVER EVER CALL HIM A RACIST..NO..NEVER..!　

 

God tells Abraham to murder his own son:

            See, the first thing you should believe is ‘GOD WILL NEVER DO SOMETHING WHICH IS A TOTAL EVIL. HE WILL NEVER EVER DO IT’.

You shld believe this firmly, without any doubt because that is the truth.

Now just because you say..Yes I believe..You wont be left untested.

 

Do the people think that they will be left to say, “We believe” and they will not be tried? [AlQur’aan 29:2]

           

              No, you will be tested..and if u pass ..you will get a tremendous tremendous reward.. As u said in one of ur posts..its nt just enough to get rid of Hell..we shld do something to enter Heaven..we should pass the tests of our God.

Prophet Abraham (Peace be upon him) was also tested! He was tested like no other man! He was asked to kill his own son whom he got after a long time! Do you think we can do it??

           But he did!!!! He believed his Lord will never say something which is evil!! He believed in it and he won!!!

God asked him to kill his son..this may seem as an apparent evil..bt Abraham was ready to do it because of his firm belief.!!

            And what was the result??

Did he kill his son?? No.. instead of that he was asked to sacrifice a goat..and if you know this is what we do during ‘Eidul Adha..we sacrifice a camel or cow or sheep..in remembrance of this act of Abraham (Peace be upon him).

               What an excellent reward..generations n generations of people will continue doing this..remembering this incident!

And this is not the only test! He was tested severely..and he passed in each test..and he got rewards which no human being ever got..like what I said previously..more prophets were sent to the descendants of Abraham!!!

 

And when Abraham was tried by his Lord with commands and he fulfilled them. [Allah] said, “Indeed, I will make you a leader for the mankind.” [AlQur’aan 2:124].

BELIEVE!!..GOD WILL NEVER ORDER EVIL..PASS UR TEST..U WILL BE REWARDED PARADISE! DONT EVER CALL HIM SADIST..THE LOSE IS OURS NOT GOD’S!　

 

God curses Egypt, and kills every first born son:

       I am sorry, this is an addition..God never cursed Egypt..He didnt order to kill the first born son..He is not responsible for what our evil hands wrote!

 

SO finally…. Is God of Jesus, the God of Moses?

     Yes, we have ONLY ONE GOD. GOD OF NOAH, ABRAHAM, MOSES, JESUS, MUHAMMAD, YOU, ME, WHOLE MANKIND IS THE SAME ONE TRUE GOD!

You may find that I wrote the original arabic words of God before its English translation just to remind you that we have God’s words in its original form without any addition or deletion as opposed to Torah or Injeel whose original Hebrew or Aramaic words are lost..or may be some of them is in a ‘museum’.

When you go for shopping, you want the latest model of everything..You want the latest fashioned clothes..latest model car..latest iphone..latest latest latest..

THEN WHY NOT YOUR RELIGION??

WHY DONT YOU WANT THE LATEST WORDS OF GOD??

WHY DONT YOU WANT TO FOLLOW IT?? WHATS WRONG WITH YOU??

I am not saying..leave ur religion..I am saying.. UPGRADE UR RELIGION..

COME TO THE TRUE PATH..LETS BE THE SUCCESSORS OF THE ETERNAL SUCCESS!
